Turning Those Article Links On
Article directories are still one of the most reliable and popular methods of getting links to your site by submitting your own link embedded into the article. This is often referred to as article marketing. If you do nothing more than submit the article you will have a collection of keyword anchored links that are, hopefully, pointed to some of your deep pages at your site.
This {lower|basic} level of article marketing is a good source of links, but with some more work the links could become great links. You see, when you submit your article a new page is created in the article directory and this article will begin its life as an NR page rank. In order to get page rank authority a web page requires links and the more sites that link to your article, the higher the PR authority it will attain. And the higher the PR, the more powerful the links from that site down the track. Linking to the article will also get it indexed quickly.
That leads to asking how does your article get links to it? You build them, of course.
Making Use of Social Bookmarking
As the name suggests, social bookmarking is all about the social aspect of the Internet. What a quaint idea and just fine if you want to make friends with your website. The Internet Marketer can make use of the social bookmarking sites for a completely different reason and that is for the power that the backlinks indirectly can give your website.
An effective article marketing strategy involves using your social bookmarking account to bookmark your article. Imagine after submitting your article that you then point, say, 20 links from social bookmarking sites at it. There are so many different bookmarking sites so it’s really up to you as to how far you actually take it.
Going Beyond Mere Article Submission
If you’ve written one article and submitted it to an article directory, it’s only a small step to rewrite the original so that it will be unique enough to be able to submit it to another article site. What you have done is known as article spinning. You’re after changes to the original article of more than 40% which is fairly easily done by moving a few paragraphs around, rewriting some sentences and replacing words with synonyms. You have yourself a second unique article if you spin the orginal once and when that is sent to another article directory you’ve just doubled the number of links to your site with that one original article.
You can take the process further. With the original article you can use some spinning software, and there’s plenty on the internet if you look hard enough, spend an hour or less creatively adding alternative synonyms, phrases and paragraphs and then submitting the article to be spun with the result being multiple new articles with unique content. Obviously, the more work you put into changing the original article, the more unique your articles will be. When you do this you should also remember to create alternate article titles, summary boxes and author bios (which is where your links will be embedded).
The process of visiting each article directory manually and submitting your spun articles follows once you’ve created your folder of spun articles. My recommendation is to spread the submissions over days or weeks and to keep track of the process with a spreadsheet so you know what has been posted where. Remember, for each article you submit you’re going to want to boost its worth by sending some links to it and this will take work too.
